In Home Tutoring Service

In addition to our online educational program, Discount Tutor can provide "one to one" tutoring for any student. We will assess your child's needs (Educational Assessment Form), determine their learning style and then develop an educational program that provides consistent reinforcement, review and enrichment.

A regular in-home session is two (2) hours in length. The frequency of our session may be once a week or in extreme cases of educational intervention, twice a week.

We at Discount Tutor pride ourselves on providing excellent personable coaching. Our coaching methods help foster a better sense of trust and confidence within the students that we mentor.

Many parents insist that we maintain an educational relationship even when their child has obtained "Honor Roll" status. You see, once a student gets to be an Honor Roll student, they have to maintain the proper attitude, drive and grade point average. We at Discount Tutor say, "a true Honor Roll student stays an Honor Roll student.

Customer saves $25.00 off our regular 2 hour school year session prices. (When billed for the first hour at $5.00).
Customer receives quality tutoring (educational assistance) for their child or children in the comfort and convenience of their own home.
Customer selects a day and time for tutoring that fits their schedule. (Once a week or twice a week)
Customer receives monthly progress reports.
Customer can easily monitor student learner(s) progress. (Just go downstairs and sit with your child and the tutor).
Customer has access to online supplemental learning at www.discountutor.com.
Customer is not locked into paying $1,000's of dollars to help their child get smarter.
Our regular hourly tutorial pricing and promotional hourly tutorial pricing are still substantially less than many other tutorial firms and companies.
Our educational evaluation costs just $5.00 not $100 - $200.
Customer can pay weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
Customer has a new teacher/friend that can help them with their educational decisions.
Student learner develops a true mentor/mentee relationship that can last right through college and beyond.
Discount Tutor can and will work with the student learner's school and teacher(s) to further develop programs and lessons that allow the student learner to reach greater success.

~ Tutorial Lesson Policy ~

Each subsequent tutorial lesson (after the initial assessment and orientation) will focus on those specific skills that need review and enrichment

Our program will strengthen skills previously taught.

Our program will teach skills that should have been learned and or mastered.

Our program will teach skills that are needed at current and next grade level.

Our program will monitor student growth and skill retention.

Student learners will be required to read and submit monthly book reports.

Student learners will be required to complete extended and follow up lessons prior to the next tutorial visit.

Parents and guardians of student learners will be required to monitor and or participate in student educational activities.

Student learners will be required to keep and maintain a portfolio of assignments, lessons, informal assessments and or projects.

Student learners and parents are required to maintain a schedule that would allow the student learner to complete any and all assignments.

Tutor will provide the parent or guardian with a monthly progress report.

Tutor will provide the parent or guardian with results from any and all assessments (formal and informal).

First Time Customer - Promotion # 1

$ 5.00 - First hour

$30.00 - Second hour

$35.00 - Initial (2) hour minimum tutorial session.

Each subsequent session is billed at the regular tutorial rate of $30.00 per hour for the first child and $5.00 per hour for each additional child, up to (3) children living in the same household.

First Hour - Includes:

Educational Assessment - evaluation of child or children's strengths and weaknesses.
Learning Style Survey.
Tutor/Student orientation
Program overview/expectations
Assessment Summary results to Parents

Second Hour - Includes:

Assessment summary continuation (if necessary)
Additional assessments (if necessary)
Individual Program implementation
Reading skill lessons
Math skill lessons
Language skill lessons
Phonics skill lessons (if necessary)
Extended, enrichment lesson review/policy - (homework)
