After watching my child struggle throughout her first four years in

10/13/04 Over the past four years, Mr. Phillips has spent numerous hours in tutoring my children. It has been a major plus in their educational skills. An assessment was made with each child to establish their need area. My daughter, who is 6 years old and in the first grade, is very eager to complete school and tutor assignments. She is now reading on a third grade level. My son, who is thirteen and in the seventh grade was having a really hard time in completing class work and just participating in school period. Once he was assessed by Mr. Phillips, it was found that his problem wasn't because he was incompetent, he has a problem with comprehension. So we had to start with the basis and he is now doing extremely well in school. He is very focused, eager to learn and motivated. I am very grateful with the one on one attention by children have while being tutored. I will continue to refer family and friends to Discountutor. I am very pleased.

Expressions of Gratitude
This letter is to express my deepest sense of appreciation to Mr. Frank Phillips for "saving my grandchildren" for a life of uncertainty because of learning deprivation and inadequacies.
I am a grandparent raising two grandchildren and very involved in the lives of my five grandchildren. The two I am raising are both enrolled in the Montessori program which is a very good public school program in Prince George's County. I was very concerned that my granddaughter was not able to keep up with her school work. This became very evident to me last year when her behavior at school and home changed. I began to realize that she was getting frustrated because she could not keep up in class. She felt embarrassed and would not ask for help from me or her teacher. Recognizing this, I began to look for someone who could work with her and her brothers on a regular schedule and to help her gain confidence in herself and her abilities to learn.
I was referred to Mr. Frank Phillips and I have been so very pleased with the progress of my granddaughter and grandsons. His approach to learning is working very well and even though they thought in the beginning that this was going to be a "cakewalk", it has been just what they needed to improve their personal learning process.
My youngest grandson is in Pre-K and has a slight speech impediment and Mr. Phillips is helping him to learn to read and speak clearly. I feel confident that when he enters Kindergarten next school year, his teachers and classmates will be able to understand him when he speaks. To me, this is very important to his learning process and his self esteem and I cannot thank Mr. Phillips enough for working with my grandchildren, because without a good foundation in education, as time passes you tend to get further and further behind and come to the point where it is not important anymore and the desire to learn will slowly diminish. At that point in time, you have decreased your future potential by 50% and it generally doesn't get any better.
I cannot say enough about what Mr. Phillips has done for me and my grandkids. Hopefully, he will be a part of their lives for a long time to come....

Mr. Phillips has been tutoring my daughter for 3 years. I was a frustrated parent who was trying to self tutor my daughter in math. She was barely passing and I was truing to explain my way of doing math. Needless to say, we both were exhausted! Then one day my daughter brought a flier home with an advertisement about a tutorial program. I called immediately. Once Mr. Phillips began instructing my daughter, I saw the difference in several areas. Her confidence level in all of her subjects improved. She began to understand how to problem solve in math and enjoy it! She is able to write an essay and do projects with understanding and clarity. Her reading and writing skills have greatly improved. My daughters grade point average increased from a C average to an A-B average. Mr. Phillips is intelligent and knows how to break down information in the subject areas so kids not only understand, but enjoy the information being presented to them. My daughter is now in the seventh grade and looks forward to going to school to learn. Mr. Phillips has been a blessing. Kudos for Mr. Phillips.
